155" Challenger 2.5" Without a drop n roll??

i moved my skid back 1in when i put on my camo ex if you really need anti-stab kit iam sure i woulda found out by now that i need one:D

but if you got the cash get it for a little insurence

if you wanted to wait and do the drop and roll, there will be a chaincase available within the next few months alot easier to do down side cost a little more

on the 156 with 3 pitch 7 tooth drivers an anti stab kit is required. I run it on mine, I've seen one without that was stabbed shortly after being installed.

The 155" With the stock drivers?

I have a 163, but I have the avids 2.86, I wouldn't hesitate to run it with the stock ones either. I bought the settup off of a sled that had a turbo and it worked fine also. I will probably do a drop and roll next summer but I ran out of money.

You can run the camo extreme 155 with stock everything, no drivers, no anti stab, no moving the skid, nothing and it will be an improvement over stock. Then if you do the d&r thats all you need, still no extroverts/antistab, but you may have to move the skid depending on which kit you use. Antistab/avid drivers are a few hundred dollars that are better spent somewhere else IMHO of course. Also remember if you go with a smaller driver you may have to re-gear dependant on drive pitch and desired ratio. So for a guy doing his own work you can do the track and d&r for around 8-1000 depending on d&r holz also makes a kit that only drops the shaft and doesnt move it back.

A few thoughts on the proposal.

I'll ask this first...
Why do you want the track now, and wait on the D&R?
If it's time, I have the tools and I'll help you, and I think it can be done in a long day, especially if you have help.
If it's $$,

Best wishes with your choice!
PE

I want the track now why?? I think we all know why, lol.

So the old lady isn't screaming as she re-learns how to ride.

Waiting on the D&R....I own half a snap-on catalog so that's not it, but money is a little tight right now and being the perfectionist that I am, I'd likely turn the D&R job into a 50 hour plus job, trying to figure out how to re-engineer the wheel (the whoile sled). The more I work on a sled, the more work I seem to take on. Actually, time is my enemy right now as I have to maintain more than just my fleet. I must say that I haven't been a big fan also of the 7 toothers in the past, vibration issues, of course this was a while back.

That's what I was thinking, just to get the season out of it with the stock drivers and then fastrax's kit.

dave..thats what happened to me..started out as a simple change track..then added drop and roll...then redid tunnel as well..I did stick with the 2.86 camo-x track..,stock drivers, uncut rails..after kurt and I talked it back and forth we decided until i did bigbore or turbo no reason not to run stock drivers...kurt did talk me into the D&R..said it made a big difference on how well the track performed...

Avid does NOT make 7tooth drivers for the 2.86 pitch tracks... but that is why I recommended the 156" track... It is a 3" pitch track... this would allow you to run the...

7 tooth x 3" pitch drivers for the Polaris tubular driveshaft which Avid DOES make.

The 7 tooth drivers will give a small increase in clearance without going to a D&R.

Good luck!

Do they make an 8 tooth driver for the 3" pitch 156" track? That way a guy could do the drop and roll in the off season and still run the 156" track?

Back to the original question.....Yes. It fits fine.....no need to change anything unless you want to.

Dave... I dont think the 2.5" track would fit with an 8 tooth 3" pitch driver...Too big of diameter.

Also... there is a cost/benefit to everything..

D&R on this chassis also changes the handling character of the sled... the geometry is changed... For the better or not, I don't have an opinion on that..

Davy... I'd like to ride your sled if we hood up for a ride this year and see what it is all about...

Dave... Just get the 155" x 2.5 and live with the parasitic drag... If you do a Drop next season... you will have an ideal setup.

Awwwwww just forget all this technical crap and boost it. It wont matter what track, drivers, clearance, your spinnin when your spinnin it at 80 MPH.

Just being a jerk. I did the 7 tooth 3.0 Avids with the CE track and no D&R. It worked great in all areas in stock form. The one thing you will notice about the CE track is that your grace period between when you think you might be getting stuck (with the 5.1) and when you are in a 6' trench completely goes away. With the CE, when you think its time to start turning out based on the OEM track performance, you are already stuck. 2-3 digs and you'll have the new quicker timing down. The other problem is that where you are stuck will be way up the hill from where you were with your 5.1, and also from all your buds with 5.1's. lol.

Since boost, I now have 2-3 feet of track rub marks in my tunnel. There is a substancial vibration increase with the extro's so I dont think I have ever felt the rub underway. Time to look at the D&R for me too. Good luck. EW

MH, are you driving and posting????? I got a couple sets of V-Force reeds, send me all your stockers, not stickers, stockers. LOL. See ya soon. Might want to drop the beanie and the pita wrap on your way north out of Cali and pick up a good cowboy hat and a bacon cheese burger in Oregon somewhere. Just lookin out for ya. EW

I HAVE been running AVID 8 tooth 2.86 pitch drivers on my 07 T-Dragon for over 2 full seasons now with the Camo Extreme 9104 155x15x2.5 in 2.86 pitch and no rubbing issues.
On my wifes sled I installed the 9974 Camo Extreme 156x15x2.5 in 3.0 pitch with 7 tooth Avid drivers.
The 2.86 pitch is much smoother than the 3.0

My next step is 7 tooth Avids ( 1 1/8" driveshaft ) with a 9116 Camo Extreme 162x16x3 in 3.0 pitch. Yes it will be cut down to 15 wide, not that big a deal.

Need to find the right D&R kit, don't want junk.
Anyone really like their D&R kit? PM me.
