I don't think there is such a thing as a 153 Ascent. I thought it was only available on the 2012 162s?

That is correct only available in the 162. I have a 153 challenger extreme and would highly recommend it

It must be a factory available part because there is a brand new one on eBay from a Yamaha dealer for $807.

It is the harde compound for Turbo applications.
