153 inch track with boost, good or bad

I have a 2008 nytro mtx, I plan on installing a turbo this summer and installing a challenger extreme track. I am wanting to keep the 153 inch track and not go any longer, I ride in the mountains. I am wondering if a 153 inch track will be enough for this sled with it being boosted or do I need to go longer to like a 162. I like the way it climbs and floats just not sure what it will be like when boosted. thanks

153 will be lots, just change to challenger extreme track.

I rode with the stocker all year until the last trip out I thought it was good but what a difference a 162 challenger extreme made. That and the timbersled rear is quite good, the sled goes up hill so fast my shoulders and arms ached for 2 days after from trying to hold on.

If I do decide to go with a 162 who makes a rail extension kit for the nytro and a tunnel ext. kit. I am in the process of making out my august christmas list, :D

I bought Ice Age Rails, you can google them at ice age manufacturing. The rails worked out to about $125 a rail so $250 for the set and they ship very fast. You can get them cut for stock set up or mountain tamer suspension and I got them to cut the rails for 8" rear wheels, basically what ever you want.

I did not put on a tunnel extension and I personally think the Nytro looks better with a 162 under it. The tunnel does not look so goofy, just my opinion though.

Is this list from you to you!!

I had a similiar list last year, ahhhaha

Go with the 162" you won't regret it. Ice rails as mentioned, fit no problem to stock sus.

Good luck!!

Depends on what you do. The 153 will take you places you have never dreamed of. If your into hillshooting all day then go with a 162 for sure.

The 153 is more fun all around the 162 will out-climb it in deep snow but takes away from the silly *** carving and wheeleing that you get with boost on a 153 just my thoughts. My Friend has a Mytro --boost and 153 with the MT tamer set up I run a one tone with a 151 by 2.5 and a holz skid.

Thanks for the info guys, I ride in the Bighorns of Wyoming so I think the 153 mite do the trick. I just wasnt sure if it acted funny with all the boost. We do alot of climbing but not like at cooke or anything, the hills are'nt that steep so I think the 153 mite do. All I know is I am definately getting rid of the maverick track.

Add an Ice Age or MMP big Wheel kit and run 9" wheels. Then my suggestion would definitely be the 156x15x2.5" track. My favorite all around track on a naturally aspirated sled for sure. Either way, definitely upgrade the rear suspension.

I've heard you won't need a tunnel extension, especially if you use 8 or 9" bogies. Tracks USA is where to order up your track. They have a 40% discount on the rail extensions for ya.

I have the 08 nytro and went with a 16x 156 camo extreme just used a big wheel kit. You will have to change the rear drop brackets and grind a few bolt heads but the 16 wide is awesome for the deeper snow.........02

yep i did the same thing just with a 15 wide camo x 156 . i would of kept the 153 but camoplast dosent make a 153 with 2.5 paddles on it so i had to go 156 . i like to pull some hill but really like just playing around in the meadows so im looking at a 144 next season ,

153 on 10lbs of boost is lots of fun. Light in the front end but it's not way in the air all the time. If you're not into chutes, tighten up the limiter, set the springs to stiff and have fun - you'll be fine on the 153. First 100 miles on mine was all smiles:D:beer;
