151 SBA?

I have an 11' Switchback assault. The track is about toast now. I was thinking of putting a 151 track and rail extensions on it ( don't need to extend the tunnel for this). I am looking for a little more float. I have the new Burandt boards and gripper skis. I definitely ride more off trail. Does anybody have any experience with this or will I just be turning my sled into a cabbage?

I'm doing this to my '13 SBA for my trip to the big horns. Bought a used 151x2" challenger track. Just need the extensions and longer hyfax. Hope it works well !!

Get a 9" big wheel kit and flip the axle so the wheels are back farther then you won't need rail extensions . Just a thought.

What would work better in a climbing situation a 151 x2 or a 146 x 2.5??

You have 20% More Tractive Volume with the 146 x 2.5, So in theory anyway you can climb on top of the snow and tractor up rather than having to spin your way to the top. Hence the trend towards taller and taller lug heights as technology advances.

Just a thought, maybe could get the challenger 151x16(if its still made?) which has 2.31 inch lugs and get it trimmed to 15 wide.

You still buy 15x146 2.4 that were for the iq assault. Search on e bay. You will need a different driver though.

Tracks USA has a great deal on the 151 cut down to 15" wide-this way you wont need to change the drivers. I think this is the way I am going for next year, a little extra length and lug height. I would love to be able to do this with the flipped axle with inner wheels only-any one done the axle flip yet to see if it will work?

Tracks USA also has a special on a 144 to 159 package for $555. 159 x 2.125" track, rail, and tunnel extensions. I am steering a buddy in this direction.

The axle flip works going from 136 to 141 so it should work just fine from 146 to 151 or even 144 to 151

There are a few axle mfg. I got mine from mtn machine performance, WPS is a dist. for them or you can by direct, I think the the tracks USA extensions might be stronger, although the mmp axle is a stout part

I still trail ride and the 159 would just be too much for that. I'm thinking the rail ext are the stronger way to go too. If you didn't have to change drivers is just so the 146 but no such luck.
