15 wide camo extreme on way!!!

I have a 15 wide camo extreme coming for my XP. I can't wait to try it. I've heard good things about 15 wide tracks on xp's. Did anyone notice an increase in track speed with a 15 wide?

I've never changed the track on an xp. Anyone have pics or pointers?

You will see improvements from the new track but is from the lack of holes punched in the center not from 15 wide track. It will float better and in soft snow climbing will be a huge difference. Skidoo screwed up when they cut those big holes in the track. We have done several track swaps but stayed 16" wide and are very happy with the results. If skidoo would have left the holes out these sleds would flat dominate every sled in its class.

So why is everyone porting tracks if it makes it float worse? I does somewhat make sence....but snow shoes have holes????

IMO taking the 16 wide off and going to a 15 wide is a HUGE mistake.

Porting works until the hole gets to big. Try it you'll be glad you did. I think snow shoes have holes for weight primarily. I bet they would float better if they were solid. We have done several track swaps with no other changes to the sled and the improvement was 20-30' higher on the same hill against sleds we ride with all the time that were dead even before.

You know where Istand brother............15 all the way!! Modern snowshoes don't have the holes like old ones do. The old ones with the mesh weave were made that way to save weight and provide traction. No movable binding with traction cleat like the new ones. Felkers sells a kit to cover the ported holes from Doo. Your sled WILL perform better with the flappers installed.

The new camo extreme has a center port for polaris' dumb *** middle drivers. The port may help with a bit of snow evacuation but I'm not worried about it.

I'm curious to see if I get more or less track speed out west, and if my top end is different at low elevations across our gay flat fields at home.

Hey tinman just wondering what track your using. A lot of guys around here are putting Poo 166 tracks under there XP's. Thanks.

What a ****in pain in the azz. That bearing retainer in the ****ing brake unit is a stuborn POS. Track looks good though. Never got to test it yet. If anyone else is doing it, don't forget to take the spring off the caliper/pad pin. I wedged it in the threads and had to file the pin to get it to come through the hole. Rookie mistake.

Track is on. Looks great. Cut a few tight donuts with it and felt a big difference. More predictable and comes out hard. Catwalk city baby. I'm going to revy again at the end of the month. I'll have a good comparisson against a stock track when I get back.

Thatt'a boy! Sit on your sled in the shop and practice looking over the bars. Focus on trying to see the BOTTOM of the front bumper-cause at the top of a steep climb, that's exactly what you will see!! You'll love it! Hurry back with a report

xp with 15 wide powerclaw 3.0 pitch

felkers been putting 174 camos on the xp cuz it wont trench like the stock track, but slow without track speed onthe hill, if they really wanted to see the xp perform they would put the powerclaw on with the avid 3.0 drivers and see how much faster 10-14 mph and 10-15 sled lengths higher onthe hill the xp would go but the die hard doo rider would rather put on the old 174 camo than put a cat track on ,i did cuz i'm not brand royal, i just use what works and i can tell you some of those felker riders puke when they see how the xp claw combo works i love it, kodpkd you need to try it

Wouldn't it just be better to trade the whole thing in on a new CAT. I thought I heard Skidoo was gonna make a hot new track since its been gettin Whooped by all those CATS.

Digging the 15 wide camo extreme. Step on one side...pin it. (front end lifts) turn skis one way and lean the other and away she goes.

Clutching is off though. (413's 2000' full 09 pins 160-290 straigh 44 stock purple secondary spring) Peaks at 8300 then drifts down if there isn't much load. Under load it holds rpms. Need help don't get it

Hmmm....just because I'm awake and bored I'll chime in, even though I don't know tonnes about it, but, is what you're describing a bad thing? Does it build rpm's again once load is re-aplied? Sounds like under load it doesn't upshift all the way out, but under less load it will and the engine can't quite turn this tall gearing.....? No?

makes sense...I'm geared at 20/45. Maybe the 19 is the way to go. I was thinking of trying some 1mm oversized rollers. It was pretty warm. Running rich doesn't help.

I have a straightline Y-pipe coming and I'm getting my pipe ceramic coated. I'll leave it alone untill I get that stuff on, if it will make any difference.
