Just installed a brand new set of snowcheck Walker Needle Pro shocks and rode yesterday. I noticed that the spring hit the reservoir, and chipped the paint. I can feel a ding in the bottom of the reservoir! Anyone else have that happen? Also the rear shock doesn't have a bottom out bumper. The stock shocks had one, and I have a buddy's 2014 in the garage next to mine that has it as well. Also normal?

Surprised nobody has replied, but I'm interested in the info as well as this year will be my first experience with these shocks on my 15 pro

My 11 walker needles do not have bottom out bumpers if that helps at all ..don't know about the spring hitting tho..that doesn't sound right to me

W/e needles have a "needle" thats inside the visible rod, which is hallow and the needle slides inside and hydraulicly bottom out not mechanically. Possibly why no bump stop. Never noticed if the ones on my predator had the rubber stop.

Makes sense, but why would they put them on the front shocks if that's the case? On another note, these shocks work extremely well compared to my '13 stockers with some carl's revalving. Sunday the trail was whooped out and icey and hammering through was pretty controlled. I also hit a couple of hard landings and they soaked those up good as well.

Possibly fronts arnt needles. Shock same diameter? And rod?

It's whatever are on the 2015 Snowchecks. They are all much bigger shafts than the stock Walkers. All are needles according to the parts fiche.

Looking at the fiche, the diagram doesn't show the bumper on the rear track shock, so that questions is answered. Fronts show them. Makes for a more plush bottom up front I assume.

Where are you at for preload on the front? Maybe if you're on the light end of the spectrum the spring is able to get over under the reservoir when the suspension is unweighted. Dunno. Heck, maybe you can even rotate the spring so the coil this is hitting is farther up and out of the way. Again, just throwing ideas out there.

I thought about that as well. Preload is what was set at the factory for the sled these came off of. Speaking of, I was looking for the specs to set them for my weight. I assume it's different from the std Walkers, but need some info to verify. I don't have the owner's manual for the new stuff.

Don't think the factory sets the pre-load....put it on a stand so the suspension is hanging and then back the springs off completely so the spring has no compression. Tighten a few turns and play with it from there.
