how do you think a 1 1/4 would do in 12 to 17in of fresh
seld is a 02 edgeX 144 tiped up rails 8in BW wildchild ext

I don't know what it's like riding the flats but there is a reason you rarely see a 1 1/4" track in the powder. But then again, a 2 1/4" is no good for groomed trails. Dang, I guess I'm no help at all:o

I'd say an 1 1/2 would be your best option but not too many of them available in the 144 length. I know of a lot of people in MN that ride 121 and 136 1 1/2 with no problems. Otherwise a 1.75 or 2" isn't too bad if you run scratchers on the trails and lakes.

Or you could get one of the old style 2" challengers that have the soft paddles and cut it down to 1 1/2"

We put a 2 x 144 Camoplast finger track on an 02 Edge 450 lbs 660cc to be better for summer grass drags and winter hillclimb racing....but guess what? The thing turned out to be a great all around free ride performer including very deep powder riding. I still contend its the best overall all around mtn track money can buy. I've been very happily proving it for years. For what you have discribed as your agenda, having only one choice throughout the season, it would be that track.
