144 to 151

I switched my undercarriage over on my 06 SB from a 144 to a 151. Everything went together good but I can't get it mounted up in the back holes. There are two spots and I've been trying to get it mounted up in the front holes but can't. It mounts up in back hole ok but I've been told it uses the same front hole as the 144 skid. Never had this many problems getting a skid in. Any ides???

did you compress the torque arm a little.... The 144 and 151 do use the same holes. The rear hole is for the 159 and 166 skid. It will go just have to be patient and use a ratchet strap to help compress it down just a touch.

I don't mean to start an argument here...but the 144-151 chassis is the same, but the rear mounting hole on a 144 (or Switchback) is for a 151 and vise versa. The 159-166 chassis is indeed different from the 144-151.

The only thing that I can think of is that the 151" MUST be from an 05-06 model year sled...In 07 when polaris switched over to the RAW platform of the IQ, the suspension geometries changed as well.

If all is well and you still can't fit the 151" in, double check the placement of the shock arms in the skid is correct...last season, I took my 144" out, did some work to it, removed the shocks for rebuild, then reinstalled without shocks, I couldn't get it back in because the front lower shock tab had "flipped"...something to consider!

What I did was pull my 144 skid out and bought 151 rails from an 06 and switched all my parts over. Everything looks correct to me. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and have taken skids out and reinstalled them 100's of times so I'm really stumped with this one. I tried looking in the repair manuals for some pics of a 151 skid to make sure I bolted everything up correctly but there isn't anything.
