I currently have my engine out and disassembled to do top end and crank seals. I went to reassemble the bottom end and bolted the case back together then I spun the crank by hand to see if everything was good and noticed a squeak so I took it all apart again and traced it to the water pump making the noise. It has been sitting dry for about two weeks so I’m curious if it’s possible that the mechanical seal is just dry and that’s what is making the noise or if something else is going on. I didn’t pay attention at the original disassembly to remember if it was making the noise before I messed with it. If anyone has any input I’d appreciate it.
