i broke my 2011 kill switch off, its gone. i have the ftx throttle block in place of the stock one.
how/ can i replace it with the new style switch? i am not afraid of soldering and heat shrink.

could

i could just find a genaric switch to connect the wires to. they are just hanging out in the open.

If it's like most new parts, you'll be lucky to get your hands on a 13 kill switch by Sept or Oct, if you can get a valid part number. JMPE.

I'd get a reverse button from a 11 or 12 pro and use that for a kill switch for your right thumb. That, or a kill switch off of a prox racer or iqr. And of course, still wear a tether!

kill

I had a fly switch once and didn't like how you had to hold it down similar to the reverse button. I like the two position best

little

That ones a little bit better but not quite what I want. I assume all kill switches are the same as in they just complete a circuit so i imagine I can use one off an XP as well

Yes. You can use pretty much anything. Find the style you like and just connect the wires.

If you can wait... I'd bet the 2013 is a plug/play... You should be able to get it before the snow next season.

I've used the IQR and really liked it... I agree a two position switch, that stays off when you hit it is safest.

Just get a new stock kill switch. An XP kill switch strap fits perfect around the bars and holds it wherever you want to move it to.

Pics coming

I've seen two Pro guys I ride with change their throttle block and go to a different kill switch (one was RSI, not sure on the other) and have electrical problems. They are competent so I don't doubt that. The Pro electrical system seems touchy, perhaps a resistance problem? Anyway, I'm sure it can happen, just a heads up.

I don't see the point of the kill switch. Get a tether for emergencies, and shut it off normally with the key.

The kill switch serves no purpose.

FWIW, I always leave my key on, never touch it, and the odds of having to jack with it when rolling the sled over in a stuck are low. Just never touch it. Seen it happen before, key falls out, and the dude didn't have an extra key with him, either. I'm spoiled by owning DESS doos, I guess, if you call that spoiled. JMPE.

Nice thing about the pro though, is you just unplug the wiring harness and ride. So your not stranded...And there are 6 different type of keys? and dealer usually has all 6 in stock...
