It was probably the crappiest snow you could ride in. It was hard as a rock. I have a 12 with airframes and tied clutch. I couldn't tell a nickels worth of difference between the two. I swapped back and forth a half a dozen times and finally came to the conclusion that there is an ever so slight difference in the ease of tipping the 13 up. The airframe running boards are nicer but the new ones are probably not worth swapping out unless you just have money burning a hole in your pocket. The biggest thing for me was the short seat. It is way nicer to jump side to side on. As far as power my 12 came out of the hole pretty much even and got the 13 by 2 lengths at the top of the hill. The belt drive is a little noisy. my cmx drive never made any noise. Seems like the belt is overly tight. The 5.1 is a joke on the stuff we were riding. It was pointless to even take my turbo. No hookup what so ever.
All in all the took an awesome sled and made it better. If you have a bone stock sled it is probably a no brainer but with a low mile 12, with airframes already, I'm not sure.

I'm with you Terry. I rode it early March in actually really good conditions. I was expecting more, guess I got caught up in the hype and videos with everyone saying it was like going from the IQ to the Pro Ride. It's not even close, yes the handling was a bit better but not anything that would knock your socks off! I couldn't tell any weight difference and I thought the belt drive would set the 13 apart from the 12, no the 12 hangs right with it. The belt drive is nice, but overall I wasn't impressed. To me it just doesn't have the power needed to make me say "Holy Crap, this kills my 12". If it did I would be snow checking. Yes it is a great sled by all means, but it’s kind of like this, what would a Corvette ZR1 be like with a 3.6 V-6 instead of the 6.2 supercharged V8 with 638 HP??? Nothing more than a fast looking car with a great chassis. What makes the ZR1 is the motor. This is how I feel about the Pro; it's got a great chassis, but has so much more potential and fun factor if Polaris would complement it with a more powerful, reliable engine. How many more of you would snow check one this year if that was on the build sheet "167 HP Pro weighing in at 417 dry"???? Polaris when you get around to doing this and see sales sky rocket don't forget to send me my check for steering you in the right direction.

I as well rode the 13, at Seeley Lake earlier this year. The 13 seemed to me to have a bit more "snap" then my 12, but not a huge difference. The belt drive looked very "clean" and did transfer power to the snow very well. I really liked the boards and the increased stiffness they provided, but I can upgrade these on my 12 fairly reasonably. Think I'll hold out another year or two for a reliable engine, with more hp. Having three years of warranty remaining helps, as does the fact the my 12 is running great, best sled I've ever had. However, if it was time for an upgrade, I'd jump all over a 13.

Hey Terry it was nice meeting you up on the mountain for the test ride. I agree w/ Terry, you just couldn't really tell much difference between 11,12, and 13. I also took my turbo, should have taken my wife's 600. Snow was very icy. The Polaris track stinks in those conditions. Doo track on my '09 was better, but still could have used more bite like a challenger extreme or even the Assault track. IMO, if I owned an 11 or 12 Pro, I don't think I would bother upgrading.

Although the conditions sucked, the test ride was actually perfect for what I wanted to know. All the sleds are extremely easy to ride in soft snow, the Polaris was definitely easier to sidehill in the hard snow than my Doo. Really wish I would have taken my old man's sled to jump back and forth on. It has the narrow stance and the post moved forward 3 1/2". Holds a hillside much easier than my sled, and has a belt drive. You could feel the belt drive when we added it to his sled. I think you would notice the same thing on the Polaris if it could find traction.
