Just picked up a 2013 RMK ASSAULT 155 800, my first sled in about 9 years. (Very similar to my last one).
Ran fine on the test drive, new drop in motor 150miles ago with 1400miles on the sled.
It had a hard life with lots of small issues, 4 wire connector melted, A frame tab for the bumper busted off and the guy that had it cut so many holes in the panels it looked like it was in a gang war. BUT it ran great. I bought used panels, hood, and tank (they were wrapped so it was a set), replaced all the broken, melted pieces. Took it for its first fun today made it half a mile and it lost power and died. Pulled the pump out of the tank and it’s possible the pickup was upside down, it only had about a 1/4 tank. Pulled it out, put it back in and it ran but only if giving it throttle while pulling it over. Went for a quick ride and it sputtered a little. Temp rose fast up to 155.
Let it sit and again wouldn’t start till I held the throttle open. It also back fired HARD twice while starting and wouldn’t idle.
Big trip coming up this week and I have no idea, any help would be greatly appreciated.
