13/14 boards on 12 pro

I bought a set of used boards off of a 14 and want to put them on my 12. Just want to no if there are any issues i might come across or is it straight foward cut and rivet? I already noticed at the back where it bolts on there is only one bolt now instead of two do i have to drill a new hole or do one if the existing ones line up. Any help would be appreciated i dont want to mess my tunnel up lol.

Did this last year, best upgrade to that sled IMHO.

I got some 13 boards and the person sent the cutting templates, made it much easier but still quite a long job. Definitely worth the effort, stronger boards with no snow build up in deep powder.

Use the forward hole for mounting the rear of the boards.

Go to a dealer and get the OEM rivets from 13 or 14. They are very strong and grip well. Take your time cutting. I did mine without a template. I ended up making about 3 total cuts per side. You'll need to trim footwell plastic after boards are installed to fully utilize forward most openings.

Try to get the templates it'll make the job alot easier. I used a thing called a hacks all (kind of like a mini sawall) it worked alot better then a zawall or jig saw. I also used a die grinder with a sanding bit in it to clean up th corners.

I was thinking of grabing my buddys 13 so i can look at it when i do mine. If the dealer doesn't have rivets would stainless steel ones from Canadian tire work? 907 assault what plastic are you talking about any pics by any chance?

I just did my 12 with 14 boards. The forward hole on the rear support lines up with the 14 boards. I did not get a template with mine, I just made one cut down the center of the old boards and removed. Oh, do not remove any rivets, they help support when cutting. Then I took the new 14 boards and laid on top and lined up all the bolt holes and existing rivet holes. Then traced out where I needed to cut. Really easy.

I will get some pics.

I can't get pics now. You'll see when you mock place the new boards. It's the forward most opening in the boards. Closest to the skis. There will be some footwell plastic on the bottom that will need to be trimmed out. Easiest to do while mocking up new boards. I'll tell you what you should do, go to the dealer and have them print you a set of instructions for burandt board installation.

Those rivets look like aluminum. You need to use strong steel rivets.

Thanks for the help guys im going to install them this weekend. Obviously i need steel rivets so what size exactly do i need? Are they gonna be all the same or are the three support bracket ones need to be a bit longer?

The 2013, and 2014 Pro's come stock with steel 3/16 rivets. We did two 2011's
and we did rivet every cross member at the tunnel as oppose to every other one that comes stock on the 2013/ 2014. We also used the bigger head (1/2" head) rivets, stud side up. Personally we thought the paper template was useless.

I was thinking of putting the extra rivets in as well makes more sense not sure why they didnt do it from factory. I guess a couple more rivets means more weight Hahahaha. 3/16 by what length or does it really matter?

I see no need to put in more rivets or bigger head ones. I would also get them powder coated before you put them on. I did that to mine and really like the snow shedding and my boots are liking the fact the boards aren't so damn sharp.

Yes get them powder coated. I did not and the snow sticks to the bare boards bad.

I do not see a need for extra rivets along the tunnel or a larger head size either.
