Just noticed the 13' is different than the 12' anybody know why??

The 2013 driveshaft is aluminum and lighter.
The shape of the shaft and hole in the drivers are different as well.
The 12 and 13 shafts are interchangeable though as long as the shaft and drivers are used as a set.
Avid products makes drivers for 11/12 RMK's and 13 RMK's.

Also looks like the idler bearing on the driveshaft isn't greaseable.

because then they would have to cut the rails shorter and potentially create a track stabbing situation. easily fixed with an anti stab kit of course but polaris might not see it that way

As been discussed many of times a track at proper tension will not ratchet or steal HP like the interwebs lead you to believe.
Snapped this pic of a 2012 Driveshaft on a 2013 belt drive.
Confirmed with Polaris factory engineering that the 2012 Driveshaft will bolt onto the 2013 Belt drive (and vice versa).
