I can not find a 12v dc plug under the hood. My 2008 rmk had one. Dealer said the only one they could find is the one above the clutch they use to plug into to back feed 12v system for checking it. I can not find that connector to mate and dont really want to cut it off and wire nut it. How is everyone get power to gps. Thanks

One of the vendors had a harness listed for just this purpose but I can't find the thread. Anybody?

Silber Turbo is selling them...

Actually they won't be as Justin told me they found a 12 volt source by the headlamps so there's really no need for a special harness. Thanks for his honesty and not selling something that's not really needed.

Is it a plug or do you need to tap into the wires

take the hood off and you'll see a plug by the main wire harness that looks to be a 12 volt source. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

That plug in the headlight area, Is linked to a fuse down by the left shock tower and its only a 2 amp, so If your electronics pull more than 2 amps you will need to add a larger fuse.

Thanks
Justin

I'm pretty sure this is the 12v plug. I need to put the hood on, start it and test to be sure though.

I found it. I was looking for it with the hood off therefore could not find it. It is on the hood by headlight as stated, not the sled.
Thanks!

Yes, it's on the hood. There is also another plug labed "DC PWR" by the bundle of plugs front of clutch. So there are more than one points it looks like. Haven't found the 2 amp fuse though.

Just a FYI..

The Fuse and fuse Holder

Location..

Is right by the Primary Clutch..

The holder is taped the the wiring Harness..

If you release the holder the fuse will come out..

it is the 2 amp fuse...

You can change it to a bigger one if need be.. More Juice needed!!

I think that things have changed on the 2012s.

On my 2011 SBA, I had a plug in the hood harness. I plugged my 12v socket directly into it.

On my 2012 RMK Assault, I don't have a plug. Why would they get rid of it??

I don't think I'm missing it. Not fond of splicing into the stock harness.

Thoughts?

Been spending some time on the parts catalogs. The harness is the same for the 2011s and the 2012s. The picture in the parts catalog clearly shows the accessory plug. Looks like I need to do more digging around on the harness. On the 2011, it was easily accessible with no digging.

<update>

Found the plug!! It was taped to the top of the hood. Couldn't see it and when feeling around in there (around headlights, dash, etc), I thought it was connected to something. Pulled on it to release the tape and I got it!! It is there, just dig for it.

I'm starting to run out of things to do!! Snow can come ANY TIME!!!

I found the 12v plug when I pulled the headlight out to put on my Madfab guage lifter. It was taped to the hood above the headlight.

Hey, guys got the 12 volt power source up by the headlights, but cannot find this 2 amp fuse talked about by the primary clutch. Is this plug dc or ac power? I'm gonna try running hid lights and don't think this 2 amp fuse will cut it. Where is it?
