The last couple rides I've had this issue with my 2011 800.
The brake indicator light (on the gauge) comes on, or flashes on and off.
At first I thought it was related to and iced/wet sensor at the brake lever, but banging the ice and jostling wires in that area didn't seem to really resolve it.
At the same time, weather related or not, I don't know; I also was having what felt like a cut-out at WOT when pulling hills. Almost what I'd guess a timing retard might feel like? Is there a separate indicator when the knock sensor is triggered?
Shutting it off for a few minutes and restarting seemed to clear it up this time.. But I'm not sure why..
One other symptom I thought I noticed was an electrical type of buzzing noise coming from under the hood...my guesses were from the MAG side somewhere. I didn't dig into that too far, but I heard the same noise the last time it acted up like this.
I have played with, and adjusted throttle cable tension some, and removed the play.
I'm pretty convinced its electrical gremlin...or could it just be poor quality fuel causing a det sensor to trigger???
Do I need to seal some connectors w/ dielectric grease somewhere? Can anyone point me to the right area for that? I've heard TPS sensor/connector mentioned before.. Where is that?
Thanks! Hopefully I can clear this up, being as random as it has been is what concerns me. I hate having random, unknowns happen 30 miles into the bush.
