unlike last weeks short and sweet report i'll make this long and dreadful..
well, WTF! sometimes ya just gotta blow out the spot.. and here i am, blowing it out... i mean, why not? right.. not like its a big secret round these parts..
So, we headed to Gallagher on friday for some 'work the turkey fat off" riding.
We drove over the pass with mist and the so often present snowfoggy fog and kept on trucking on out to La Sac, on the approach it was clear the sky, well, she was clear with a 4500ft or so snowline.. pulled up geared up and started our ride about 8:45.. the road in was brutally hard and crunchy for the 1st 12 miles or so until we got up past the snow line a bit, lots of 4x4 ruts for the 1st few miles too... once we hit the single track trail in it started to soften and started looking real nice for november 27th. the trail had lots of small creek crossing but nothing of consequence crossing. once we came out of the trees at the base of the climb a good 6 to 8 inches new on top of a soft base greeted us, hmmm.. what a pleasent surprise!! oh did i mention it was sunny to boot? commence destruction! up up, another teer up and there we were..
report: still need a lot more snow, but there IS plenty to play.. once we get the "ALOT MORE SNOW" things will flatten out and not be to technical picking you way through the way up.. easy nuff tho
ok on with a couple snapshots...
down at the mid-basin of Gallagher. i had instant memories of my 1st time there ripping those shoots on our boards a few years back.. u dont want to here that story tho
sure this is a familiar site for many.. the roll roll roll ghost ride
defenitely enough snow to lay down a good sidehill.. not saying this is good.. but yeah.. enoughh snow..
SLED2SHRED coming up the trail to head to Hawkins
anytime there is enough snow to carve keeps me happy..
Surge, making his second attempt at us not having to talk about someone else riding his sled up and out of the trail for him..
he made it!!
Another look at the Gallagher bowl
there was some semi-pooh-pow to be had
i got this friend, he wears a shiny helmet. some call it ghey, i just like to take pictures with it.. so, i like it OK..
man, my buddy picked up one of these off EBAY.. pretty neat contraption for sure. anyone know where i can find one?
and lastly, here i get to share my fond memory of stepping into the white room yesterday..
ok, my long and dreadful report is over.. beings that i just got laidoff on monday just in time for the holidays, i got some extra time on my hands to report (heartlessbastards)
P.S. i dont use spell check
