Or it it past the snow park? Am looking at my map and I see Excelsior Pass

Awesome pics. Looks like a perfect day.

FYI for people that haven't ridden Excelsior, make sure you know where your at and where the wilderness boundaries are. The standard route that most poeple take into Excelsior actually crosses through wilderness, and its very easy to cruise on down the ridgeline to the east into wilderness without realizing it.

It's a great place. Let's keep it open.

Do you know of an on-line source that has detailed maps of the wilderness for that area? Also for Baker, I have been looking for a while...

I think I have a greentrails map at home that will clear up this issue. The last I looked at the map I thought the wilderness boundary included the basin but the un-treed and ridgeline portions were not wilderness. Does that makes sense? Basically, if you accidentally dropped down into the trees you would eventually cross the wilderness boundary.

I will add I don't think ALL of the open bowl behind the sled is open to sledders. I thought the boundary came over the top of the ridge in the distance then down into the basin. I'll pour over the greentrails map when I get home tonight.

If all that isn't clear as mud make no mistake if you're riding there you are riding on the edge of the wilderness boundary. Buy yourself a green trails map and make sure for yourself.
