1050 cutler tripple $1500

Okay here's my idea. In the 60's my dad and about 6 other farmers built
snowplanes. About the size of a VW bug with 3 ski's and an airplane engine
in back with pusher prop. I've been looking for a larger engine that would be
reliable to build my own. I've heard of cutler engines but don't really know anything about them. Reliable, availability of parts, etc. Could you give me
alittle scoop on the engine etc. and I might be interested

Would probably shake itself apart, not trying to be negative but, these engines don't like a lot of long distance high rpm running. I know, long pulls, lake racing, sure, my point is IF you could rig up a prop on it, to get good power out of it you would have operate the engine at max rpm. They are not the best torque motor, especially at the stated rpm. Good sled motors though when set up right.

Thanks KNMAC, I thought it might be a fun winter project to build a new one.
Was worried though about a triple being abit unreliable, hadn't thought about
vibration. My dad did a great job with what he had available but the lycoming only put out 80 hp.
