10 M8 153 3" or 162 conversion 2.6"?

Its all personal preference how do you like your sled to ride? 3" will like to wheelie a lot, 162 not nearly as much. Id do the 3" but thats just because thats how I like to ride.

It will go higher. But you will likely have to adjust the suspension and take a run to bring your ground speed up before you hit the hill. The slower you go the more it will pull the front up.

the 3" track is one biting, digging, S.O.B

they don't spin at all, they hook up and go. I would think their isn't a ton of difference between a 162x2.6 and a 156x3" without boost. I upgraded my 09 TM8 from a 2.25 x162 to a 3"x162 last year and it wanted to wheelie, in the soft stuff the guys behind me said I dug a huge trench. on the trail the 3" throws huge softball sized snowballs behind it, no one will want to pass u on the trail. I really liked the Traction and Superior Down Hill Braking capability. this year I traded a guy for a full Kmod Skid with 174x2.5CE. unless you ride a lot on the trail , the 3" is awesome.

I like the shorter track so I'd go with the 156 3". I have the 2.6" on my 11 m8 153 m8 and love it for what it's worth. Weren't some people having trouble with the 3" throwing paddles on the trail or am I making that up?

I will say I was with 2 poo pro's on 12lbs boost each with the 3" tracks on my last trip and it was pretty stupid. It required zero talent to put those things anywhere - just grab some throttle and go. But that's a whole different conversation.

Problem fixed long time ago with the paddles. I can't tell you about the 2.6 track. The 2.25 soiled me too bad on the PC track so I skipped it and went with the 156X3. Awesome track. It puts the 153" sled right with the 162". You will have to couple it or ride a wheelie. Side hilling is different. Pull it too tight to the hill and it will wash out fast because it moves the snow.

My last 5 tracks have been 162 2.25, 153 2.25, 153 2.6, 162 2.6 and now the 162 3.
except the 3" 156, I've got the 162 3" now and after all these years of riding I can honestly say that I enjoy the 162" length the most.

I think the 162 3" does a great job of getting the sled up out of the snow, as well as holding an edge and is the best of all of them on downhill braking. I also think the longer track helps with the super steep side hill, and also allows me to ride a bit slower in the tight and technical trees that I enjoy. Also makes it when I have to get on it for a quick climb in the trees much easier as it doesn't trench as much for me. the 162" also does a better job for me at 225 lbs. Those are my thoughts after 20+ years riding basically every make of sled out there, Pro, XM, m series, dragon, XP and PC. I know dudes are always saying that shorter is for the more technical, but I think with the chassis advancements we've seen in the past few years, most track is an advantage and isn't any more difficult to ride. Can't go wrong either way though that's for sure. Those are the best 2 tracks out there IMO.
