'10 D8 bogging bad & cutting out w/pcv

I have a D8 with about 600 miles on it stock except hps can and pcv. I put the pcv on last year (about March), and pretty well had it dialed in by the end of the season. I have 3 rides on it this year, and it ran well the first time out. The second time out it ran well until my temp sensor failed, and then it started cutting out. Today (1' powder and 0 degrees) at certain times my sled would only pull 5900 rpms.

I finally got pissed and yanked the pcv off and it ran fine, but it was cutting out really bad, just like it did before i put the pcv on. However it never did the 5900 max rpm thing like it did w/pcv. The sled was definately having a hard time getting air, as the filters were clogged up everytime i looked down. Also the air box had some snow in it. What/where do i need to do to seal it up? Do you think this was my problem?

It seems weird to me that it has been running great w/pcv and then all the sudden today it ran like absolute ****, until i removed my pcv. Thanks in advance for your help!!

seal up around the headlite and the headlite adjuster, then install a set of slp powder valves in the airbox..it will run perfectly even when submarining....

Headlight adjuster is already sealed up, how are most guys going about sealing up around the headlight. I thought a person could probably put some clear caulking between the headlight and the hood. Otherwise it could be sealed up by removing the plastic piece on the underside of the hood and sealed up from the inside?? Thanks for the help, i will be getting the slp powder valves asap, it sucks to have such a good day and run like ****!

a lot of guys just fill them with silicone, I pulled my plenium, and the headlite and added foam weatherstrip around the opening till the lite was sealed...mine will run with it 2 ft under the snow and not miss a beat....

on a buddies sled out on the hill one day in deep stuff, i just wiped everything down and duct taped it..right across the headlite edge to the body..worked great....and allowed him to ride and have fun instead of bogging out everywhere...

Thanks, got the powder valves ordered. I thought about this as well when we were riding but nobody in our group had any duct tape :(.

My PCV did something like this the last ride, went about a mile from the truck and it was running very rich. Stopped and switched it to the second map which is leaner for warmer weather and it ran great. Switched it back to map one after a while and it worked evan better and it was pretty cold.
I think the PCV just had a brain fart, not sure but its fine now.
Try hooking it up to a pc and reload the map and try again.
