HERE IS THE DEAL WITH AK>>>
We have 2 refineries, one down on the Kenai and the other up by fairbanks. We are the only State that does not normally import any of its fuel from elsewhere.
Our fuel pricing is based on West Coast Pricing plus shipping. Meaning they charge us more because they can. They base their pricing on their next closes consumers (west coast) and then tack on what the shipping charges would be to ship it back to AK. If that isnt a pile of crap, I dont know what is. Why is this even legal??? It doesnt seem right does it?
And the Federal Govt. doesnt give anything to us Alaskans. The PFD is money the State invests, and pays dividends on the earnings....
I understand why fuel is more expensive in remote areas of AK, but I fail to see how making us pay extra for shipping when it isnt required is fair...
