Anyone weighed the new 09 XP that has received one. Local dealer was on a conference call with skidoo today about all the issues they had with the 08xp's. Skidoo claims they beefed up the sled so it would hold up better but when asked by the dealer how much heavier it was they were just silent and went on to other topics. Just curious to see if it really is much heavier or the same as the 08 weight.

i don't think they reallly had an structural issues with the sled, not sure why they would have to beef up any components other than the driveshaft and maybe an additional brace by the clutch....
I was at Hay Days and checke out all of the new sleds the XP is the lightest by far. When I asked the Polaris guy why the Dragons were so damn heavy his reply was why do you want to lift it any way if you get stuck just roll it out of the hole. I guess he doesn't realize weight affects that scenario as well.
How much does that 1" piece of expanded foam in the intake weigh? That's the only addittional material added to the 09.

I can't see it being more than a pound or 2. They didn't advertise any weight loss this year though. 1st time in years I haven't seen that from Doo. I know somebody lives close to T/A that's picked theres up. I'm curious now. Does anybody know if they widened the tunnel also to keep the track from rubbing?
Doesn't the chopper bill go up if they're heavier?

Tunnel is the same width they just rounded the bolts ect to solve rubbing issues??? thats what I was told ..
Changing the bolts is not enough. The tracks chew up on something else and I was told that the new tracks are going to be about 1/4"-1/2" narrower?
They fixed the bolts and rivets and also lengthened the bolt on the upper idler wheels to spread the tunnel to proper spec. Last year the bolt was too short and it pulled the tunnel sides together. You can modify this yourself by adding spacer washers to your 08 which will also take some of the bind off of the skid.
