09 xp silencer glowing red hot

Anyone know what would cause this to happen . Entire stock silencer glowing red.
I had knock sensor problems so the dealer retarded timing to -2 . This is probably the cause.
Any ideas

Retarding the timing should not do that--if anything it will make you run rich by retarding the timing. But come to think of it--maybe---
it could be excess unburned fuel in the can that is doing that--

Normally a hot exhaust like that is caused by a lean condition--I would get it back into your dealer and have them get it figured out.

retarded timing puts heat in the pipe...your dealer is a DOLT...go back to stock timing and replace knock sensor, its COMMON knowledge some are hyper sensitive...BJ

pluged pipe..not getting enough flow thru it..
