anyone try to remove the new '09 secondary adjuster. i am sure it is threaded in just like the '08. is there any tricks, mine will not loosen

Which adjuster do you have? There are two out for 09. One is plastic and the other is Aluminum. The plastic one should thread out with a little resistence from the o-ring on the end. And out of curiousity, do you have the center locking nut loose in the hole?

It should spin right out unless you have tension on it. What you can do to make things easier is put your L- shaped tool in the adjuster, spread the shives further apart and press the belt down in them a little further to help. This will keep the pressure off the adjuster if there is any. Let me know if that makes sense and if it works.
