'09 XP - bog while carving right?

While we were out riding yesterday (in 2-3 foot pow), I noticed my XP would bog down while carving to the right. It wouldn't always do it while going left, but occasionally. It's like it would only get half power. If I sat idling for a little bit, I could get full power and same when I turned it off. Yes, snow was building up on the prefilter, but i would wipe it all off and it would still do it. I'll probably get the SLP High Flow intake to help out but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Could it be anything else?

Jared

We had a similar problem late last year. Tracked it down to a fuel pickup that was oriented the wrong way and would run out of fuel when a guy put the machine too far to one side.

I talked to the a mechanic here and he said it sounds like exhaust plugging. Must have just been this particular snow, cuz I have never had this problem before. I have the HPS can. Anyone have any suggestions to cure this problem?

I'll also check the fuel pickup and see if that has anything to do with it. I started noticing it at about half tank so that could possibly be it, I'll have to take a look.

No, no, no.

It is your intake vent plugging up with snow over on the left side. When you carve left it gets wiped off but when going right the snow just piles up on it. Brush the snow off and your good to go....for another few seconds.

whoa! sorry. My connection just went fanork and I didn't get your whole post. I see now that you tried this. Mine both behave this way if the snow is just right and it is the intake ( only once this year).

Sounds like to me it is another case of your exhaust can snuffing out in the powder. I have had great luck with the HPS can not doing this. A bigger deflector would help too.

ive got an 07 rev that did that at half a tank or less, and climbing. Turns out if was the pickup line in the tank.
