I'm new to skidoos, and have only ridden polaris for the last 20 years. On my XP I noticed it is only hitting 7900 rpm's, and adjusting the clickers doesn't change anything. Like I said I'm new to skidoos, and have heard a rumor that skidoo puts a chip in their sleds when new so that you can't over rev when breaking them in. Just wondering if anyone knows if there's truth to this rumor, or if I should be looking for another reason I can only pull 7900 and the clickers don't change anything. Any help would be appreciated. I only have 200miles on the sled.

My '09 started popping 8200 at 175 miles, have my clickers set at 6 in the snowies and pull 8200 no problem.

Belt issue maybe?

Last I knew, the DPM's were programmed to "take it easy" for a break-in. Around 320 miles, you should should say "wow". Of course, that was on the '03... haven't been on anything new since then :(

It's a good possibility you need to take your clutch off and free the arm's up they are sticky from the factory or better yet have your dealer do it for you.

what clicker are you on? have u asked your dealer what elevation your sled is clutched for?

I know it's set up stock from the factory...they gave me a sheet that shows it's set up for something like 3-6k. Being both a flatlander, and riding out west I might need to change the setup. I have a buddy that has an 08 and all he did was take the set screws out, and ran the same cluthing in low elevation as the black hills.
