09 Summit 800 146" clutching

Hey Joe. That sounds great. I met a guy in the mountains with your kit on a 154" and he was very happy with it. I am definately interested but I will probably be busy for the next couple weeks or so. I will try to give you a shout sometime soon. Thanks

We have Joey's High Elevation kits on a 08' 146 and 154 and they ROCK over stock. His set up was spot on. The back shift is awesome... no more worrying about loosing RPM's if you have to back off the throttle for a quick second in tight place. And I can't think of the correct term, but compression braking when you go down hill... brake locks it up but the engine and clutching will slow the sled down better. After you figure out the sweet spot with his setup it is like having a brake that works. It is kind of a weird experience at first to give it gas to slow down... but you get used to it.

On a interesting note we found that the High Elevation kit worked awesome in deep snow at 1000ft. We ran full pin weight 20.4 gr and dropped the spring to 160/320, clicker 3 or 4 all day with both the 146 and 154. It was spot on.

Cheers
Shawn

I am very new to doing any kind of clutch work but am somewhat mechanically inclined. I would like to learn how my clutches are working and how to tweak them. Would you guys recomend installing this kit on my own as a first time clutcher?

Before you buy any clutch parts, try and learn something so you know what you are trying to do. Aaen mades/made a really good book. If you can find it, its worth a read.
