'09 m8 what will it take before fuel regulation is needed?

Maybe this has been discussed but I haven't been prowling around on here too much. I see that you can run an SLP single without fuel management. My question is: is anyone running more air? I.E. bdx black box or timbersled intake, without fuel management?

Thanks for the info.

SLP says that you can run there airbox mod w/o extra fuel. I think that it would really depend on your fuel pressure. If you have one of the sleds that is running high, you should be fine. Mine is running 42.5psi stock and I had to get a box for the BDX airbox, pipe, etc. I would think that if yours is 45psi or higher you would be fine. Sometimes its better safe than sorry though. If your going to mod, get a box.

If you want to run a little more pressure, you could just put in a fuel pressure regulator. I am running a SLP pipe and a mesh hood with the air plennum in it. No fuel controller.

yeah

I would go with a pressure regulator. I'm trying to stay away from the whole "box" scene. Just wondered what people were finding. I know they run a little fat.

I put the slp pipe and air intake on my 09 M8 with no problems and it runs great. I ride from 6-10k and run it at 7900-8000 rpm, pulls real hard.

check your plugs multiple times on different days and altitudes if there good go with it, but a box is the only way to get perfection when your tuning

With the slp pipe I run 70gram weights, actually speedwerx 69.5 but 70g cat weights work well, with a slp blue/pink 140/340 primary spring. I love this setup and it will turn 7900-8000 rpm at 9500ft in a climb. Down lower around 7500-8000ft I am seeing 8100 and it just screams. I am seeing 45mph track speed at 9000ft in a hard climb.
