Ok, for guys experiencing "heat soak" staring issues, what sort of set up are you running? Head compression....High(HO), stock(09) or lower compression? Type of fuel blends, boost pressures and elevation. Do you run a snow flap? Short, long or no?

Just some factors contributing to heat generation and dissipation. Maybe we can see a pattern perhaps.

Whenever I let mine idle down it didn't do it, sometimes it took a while. At times I would flip the heat soak switch off and on just to get it to idle down a little faster (or blip the throttle, or turn the kill switch off and on until idle down), sometimes it seemed to work and sometimes not. But as long as I waited for it to idle normal it started fine.

I think mine did the heat soak thing this weekend. But mine idled high then died, then wouldn't start. Started after 15 minutes.
I dont have a hot start switch?? I dont think? BD pump gas kit.2010 m8 09 head.
First time I rode it without a snow flap ( tore it off)
Would that help cause it to heat soak?
It also coudve been something to do with my ground screw for the BD box falling out... whoops! That explains the box acting a lil funny too!

disconnecting the air temps sensor works too I think but not sure. Also if you can have someone pressurize the baro tube it will give it more fuel also.

You can also increase the pressure on the barometric tube and start it. the Cat B.J

mine has done it too, but only when i have pulled the tether killed sled when on boost.
if this happens i remove my helmet, pop the hood and take a 15 min break letting everything cool down. if i do this it will fire right up after the break. first time it did it i pulled that thing over forever and could not get it to start, finally was getting ready to tow back after letting it sit for awhile and she fired right up. ever since then, i do the above mentioned, pop hood, let cool, have a drink and a snack, then its ready to ride again.

as others have stated, ALWAYS let sled idle down for at least 10-20 seconds before shutting it off, if you do this it will always start. at least on mine..

one of the quirks of owning a turbo sled....
