09 M8 Turbo Secondary?

Broke the secondary on my 09 M8 turbo this weekend, just wondering what you guys are running for secondaries if I should go aftermarket. I had a 36 degree helix with orange spring. Not sure yet what happened, haven't dug too far into it, but the bolts sheared off the helix.

Thanks

the bolts likely just loosened up, it's happened many times.

how much else was broken? I have a spare secondary, shoot me a pm if you need one.

???

How do even get a turbo to run with a 36 helix it probably broke from hitting the end to hard. Put a 44 or 46 on it or at least a 36/46 so it can load the turbo a little.

Its got a 36/44P helix in it. All 9 bolts holding on the helix sheared off. There is a black plastic ring that sits inside the inside sheave that is also cracked. Not sure what caused this...maybe a few of the bolts loosen up and caused vibration and it sheared off the rest?? I wasn't doing anything serious, just playing in a fresh meadow when it happened.

They do break. I bet like said above a couple backed there way out or the clutch was not totally compressed when it was assembled and the others sheared off. When you change a Helix you should also put new screws in for a safe measure with locktite... not saying you didn't just should be done.

I bought the sled with the current helix setup on it and haven't touched it. I am not 100% satisfied with the sluggishness on the low end. High end is great, but low end is not very responsive. Looks like I am going to get a new helix as removing 9 sheared off bolts will be a big pain. What helix can I go with to get me more responsiveness on the low/mid? I am running a Cutler purple/white spring and cat 80g weights. I have the stock orange spring in the secondary. Riding at 9,000-11,000 feet.

Also looks like the rest of my secondary is ok, but I need a new bushing in the inner sheeve.

I am wanting to be up and running by Friday, BCIL has a 36 degree helix and a 40/36 helix here locally. How would these work out?

Thanks for the help, new to the turbo game and I haven't messed with clutching before.

Bushing

Also looks like the rest of my secondary is ok, but I need a new bushing in the inner sheeve. I do not think you can but them if it ruined that you might need a new clutch.

I would tell you to alt least go with a 36-46 I prefer the straight.44

The parts fiche does not show the bushing as a separate part.

How will the straight 44 differ from my 36/44P? Can I get more responsives out of the low/mid without sacraficing my top end?

Your low end issue prob has more to do with fuel tuning than clutching. Listen to what MM says, There are about 3-5 guys on here that prob know more about Turbo sleds than the rest of us put together, he is one of them.
