One other small difference with the 09 skid is Cat put 1" little stoppers in front of the rear scissors. Yours has the complete shaft so I think you have an 08 Skid. Not just rails.

you are right on the money. i forgot about that.
how would you guys handle the situation, the dealer was out of state and didnt tell me he had swapped out skids w/ another sled?its not the end of the world
but i think that's something that should be disclosed before the sale ( agree or dis-agree ? ) it lowers the value of my purchase imo

i would seriously figure out if you recieved an 08 sled v.s 09, and not just the skids or rails are different. something isnt right. need pics of whole sled, production date (month and year). might be more to this than meets the eye. i see it has the powerclaw too that is an 09 thing but, the dealer could have put that on an 08 too. just sayin.

its an 09 sp, just not sure how much i should make of this....

I'm with you on this and it definetly should have been disclosed sometime during the negotiations. I dont know that it lowers the value of the sled but thats my opinion. I personally like that style rail better.

Looking at the rails on my sled, I was worried about the 09 rails bending with all the swiss cheese engineering that went into them. It wouldn't surprise me if someone bent their rails & put on a set of 08's.

I would rather have the 08 rails anyhow, my sled has more weight than the 08's added to them for support.

I agree with Batgirl, If I were you I would stick with that 08 set up.

It is much stronger than 09 imo.

on my 09 153 I bent 4 sets of rails last season, and another guy bent a set as well, never did bend a 08 set.

I went to Ice Age rails but if I wouldnt have done that I would have gone 08s.
