Just curious what everyones running for air pressure front and rear. Im about 220 with gear. I bought the FETT brothers canisters to add to my floats and wondered whats a good starting air pressure?

thanks

I'm sorry I can't help too much with the pressures although I remember liking mine at about 125 psi. Which Fett Brother canisters did you buy?

I see Dale changed his website so he now sells single canisters. Also, I see he added a new higher volume canister. Now, the question is: Which one is best for a mountain application?

frostbite i bought the larger canisters. Figured that way i could run higher pressure for bottom resistance but still have a softer ride at the beginning of the stroke. I just got to get a good starting point and will adjust some on the hill. Ill keep everyone updated when the snow flies

That was cool. Your post popped right up. Thanks. Just bought a new m8 and hope I can make the ride better than my 08.

Are you guys running them on the rear shock too? I am thinking about buying some but im just wondering if there is enough clearnace for the back one.

kpeters i bought three and im gonna try running one on the rear. I sure hope it fits. I never even looked under there to see how much room there is. Let you know next week when i install them

I plan to buy three canisters as well.

I saw there were "Fox" canisters in the HPE catalog.

I had never heard of them before so I researched to figure out if they were being made by FOX. I couldn't find any canisters on the FOX website.

So I checked out Fettbrother and there they were. I had spoken to Dale Fett a couple times and asked him if he'd break up a set so I could have one for the rear float and he said "not at this time". He must have gotten a lot of requests for singles because now he is selling them individually as well as sets.

He also mentioned he was going to build a canister with more volume. I see that he did that as well.

Montanasledder, one would think that the larger (more volume) canister would be better but, the demands we put on our shocks in the mountains may require a quicker reaction time than trail riding? Heck, I don't know. I guess I'll ask Dale which one is more suitable before I buy them.

Oh yeah, I had read in the hardcore sledder article that perhaps something had to be trimmed just a hair to make the canister fit on the rear skid but, I think that was for the adjustable Nextech canister.

After talking to Andy Youngstrom the first thing that needs to be done is a revalve so the Floats are actually working correctly. I spoke with him yesterday as he is sending my shocks back to me and we got to chatting. AC does their own thing with these shocks and are not to the spec as FOX would actually sell them at. I will let you know about the ride when the snow flies. Where I work we do alot of OHLINS revalving for road race motorcycles and when he told me how the shim stacks were in the FLOATS from the factory its amazing they work at all.

Just installed a set of Nextechs on the front and one in the rear of my 09 M8 and by the "garage feel" of them they are alot more plush. Seems they are going to alow the full compression (or close to it) of the shock while keeping the correct ride height. As far as rebound goes, I still think it will be slow in the top part of the rebound. I am hearing the orifice in the shock for rebound is the issue ausing that. Definately feels like it will be a better ride though.
As far as the rear resi goes, it looks like it will clear the track just fine. Fully collapsed there seems to be about 2 inches of clearance there.
Looks like a real quality part and well built.
Can't wat to try them out. Around 450.00 for three.

PS. 50psi in the fronts and 100psi in the rear.

Duc848, Andy has revalved my shocks this summer too and told me basically the same thing.

I think the canisters will just be the icing on the cake. My hopes are very high.
