hey guys i was just wondering what i could do with my clutching to gain me a little more track speed i'm running all stock setup with 70 gram weights around the 7000-8000ft. last year i had the 73s that came stock but i was short some rpms out in bc soft pulls around 35-37 mph xps r arounf 45 need help

There is lots of good info if you search the forums. My personal experience on my stock '09 M8 has shown 70g to be too light for the elevation you list. The stock 6k-9k setup was better at 9k plus than with the 70's. Weigh your stock 73g weights while they are out of your sled. Mine were closer to 74g's. I have a set of Speedwerx TT2 that weigh 72.4g and a set of Daltons that weigh 72.2g. I am playing with those now. I believe you get better performance if you keep your rpms a little below the peak horsepower range and use the torque band to shift out your clutches. We'll see what others have to say.

Good Sleddin!

thanx alot any others how bout helix?? i ride at 1500 ft and i'm setup with 77 gr weight and a 44/40 helix and it rocks out here but when i go uot west i like to have it dialed in

Track speed seems pretty typical

Are you running a 162?

I'm running around 9000 ft mostly and i'm running around 37-40 mph with my 162. I've been trying to pick up more, but haven't had any luck yet.

Running 70s now, but tried 73s. Didn't like the 73s. Pulled RPM down pretty hard in deep/heavy conditions

I've tried 3 different primary springs

122/285? (stock yellow/white)
120/310 SLP black yellow
120/330 D&D white

Preferred the yellow/white by far

Tried stock orange spring and 36 and was unimpressed

Currently using D&D torsion kit

Have tried 42/36 with snopro green and red/white spring.

Prefer the red/white

Trying straight 36 with red/white next ride out.

My next step is maybe go back to heavier weights and maybe grind the 73s down to 71-72 grams.

I have a 09 XF8 and I'm keeping an eye on this post, heading to the big horns in late Feb. I'm at 1000' now and I'm running 83 gram cat weights, both stock springs, and the straight 36 helix and it is a tq monster. starts at 7600 and ends at 7760-7800 every time. I have heard to stay under 7900. My sled came with 9000' clutching and was geared down, 57/63. I can be riding at 40-50 mph and this will put the skis 12" off the ground. it has great back shift and I'm still able to get 13 mpg with it.

here is a dyno sheet of the non HO 800 motor.
