ok i know code 17 is exhaust temp sensor but it flashes 1 then 17 with ecu flashing also, when you start it, sometimes it will not rev up and die, then if i shut it off most times it will take off, it lacks a bit of power also and my temps are a little cooler than normal, thanks in advance.

It is your exhaust temp sensor failing. The fine wires in the harness get broken up by vibrations, especially typical on the M1000. When the ECU receives the 17 code from the sensor, it typically trips other codes. Most of the time they are codes that don't exist, such as 23 etc.

Replace the sensor. Take special care to loop it back on itself and zip tie it to prevent failure. The stock sensor comes on the sled like this, but the new one you receive will not have the zip tie on it and will fail in short order if the zip tie is not installed to prevent breakage from vibration.

Hope this helps.

thanks for your replys ill try the exhaust sensor, also has anyone ever just put a 470ohm resistor in between the 2 wires and forget about the temp sensor??? if your smart about it and let your sled warm up before you get on it hard it shouldnt hurt anything right?? i know it will give it full specified timing all the time even when cold.

i have three rides on this 470 ohm resistor with zero problems....replaced this stupid themistor 3 times and got sick of it.....yes, let the sled warm up for min or two before you even move the sled out of the trailer, then i wait atleast 3 or more minutes before i pin it....yes, the resistor is the only feeback to the ECU in regard to how warm the sled is.....this resistor tells the ECU its heat soaked so its easy to get a cold seize

IMO, arctic cat sucks for making this temp sensor a thermistor as it should be a Thermocouple and would be bomb proof and not affected my leaded fuel

and i would always get the bero code when code 17 came up.....weird?
