SO I own 2 '09 HCR's and one is going to get a turbo before this winter, been looking at the Boondocker kits, I do not want to run race fuel so I will be staying away from that... We ride mainly between 7-10k

Just wondering what you guys (and ladies) have to say about the BD kits?

thanks in advance for any input

I say do it! Thinking will make you crazy. . .

Getting a Race Gas kit does not mean that you NEED to run race gas. It simply means that you have that flexibility if you choose.

Buy the pump gas kit. When you want more power, and you will, I will sell you the race gas upgrade I never used for a reduced price. I sold my 09 hcr before I put it on. Boondockers makes an awesome kit for the cat and as long as it is installed properly they run flawless.

The 2011 BD kits worked great on the sleds my dealer put them on, but he knows them inside out. The previous years, not so much. You need a good dealer when starting out with a bd kit to make life easy. I personally would go with twisted, simple, easy to tune and proven, they are also one of the only ones using the bigger 2876 turbo and don't need a intercooler. I have a 09 hcr with a twisted and 2871, its bullet proof and so easy to tune.

The difference in the pg vs rg is 2 or 4 injectors, the pg kits the 2 injectors will run out of fuel capacity while running 91. But if you have 4 injector there is a possibility you can run more boost with 91 than you can with only 2 injectors. With the new advantage of timing controllers it is even more likely that with a rg kit you can run 91 at higher boost probably up around 10lbs of boost.

For example
91 octane in both kits
pg- injector run out of fuel around 8lbs
rg- with timing module detonation may start around 10lbs

This is just examples of theorys I have and may possible, do not quote me. I could be off a bit and every kit varies.
