I got the 09 price sheet today and can't believe the rediculous prices. A new hawk will cost 20,000.00can. Maybe our o8 will be off the market. Now the 2 skis have a reason to complain about a hawk! I don't know what to think of the future of these awsome machines now but will not go far.

Well that does it for me...........

I guess used is the way to go now........

What is the U.S price?

My Holy Gosh

As of today the 20,000c = 19,655.21us That is just Dumb AD Boivin is going to lose half of there dealer's in the US. and prolly canada. I don't know about you guy's but there is no way I could or would buy a toy for that much, I don't care if the sickest toy around. 20k. Well unless money is'nt an issue. 10min. later "done dreaming about no money issue's." Well I guess the made to order won't be a tough task for them to build. Plenty of time for those few order's. Later Tom

great

i love it!!! it will keep my movie star status on the trails
its the same feeling i get on the freeway with my dodge viper!

you have to PAY TO PLAY!
wake up people and snatch those used ones up, the price isnt going up for no reason! they are worth it!

i know they are worth 20grand plus ,but i cant afford it. i always said you cant put a price on fun...but now its way out of my budget and im sure most others too, then if you do spend 20g you wont want to thrash it! for 20 grand i can buy a fleet of them from the guys that bought them and never rode them, good as new. adb might as well lock the doors now unless 877 is selling his viper for a new hawk or 2! id hate to be sitting there twiddling my thumbs waiting for a 20,000 order for 1 machine to come in........

Stupid

You should have seen some of the reactions when the 06's were about 10K can't imagine what people will say now. That will pretty much puts me out of the SH biz. Now I see what Ed at Mich SH was talking about. I bet they don't presell 20 at those prices. Good Luck AD.

Me too, was seriously consider ordering a new one but not at this price.....were the 2008's around $16000.00 for a mountain version? Why the large jump? Twice as much as a sled??????? Hmmm.....Maybe if i lived out west but in minnesota where you may or maynot get snow, tough to justify 20g's.

Good he!! AD has got their head way up their head!! No way would I even consider paying 20 G's for a hawk. I'm having a hard time coming up with the money to buy a used one a 6 to 7 G's. I think the new price for the 09's is going to seal the fate of the hawk.

Gas prices Gas prices and Gas prices. Aluminum production is a very energy hungry process. They are employing Canadian too, much more expensive them illegals. The first to go in slumping economies are luxury items..

You would think other companies would rush to fill the void of the Hawk, I bet Yamaha could get a single ski on the market for around 10K easy.

TC:

Now you got me thinking.

How hard would it really be to totally reconfigure the bulkhead and bellypan to accomodate some forks? Dump the running boards, install some pegs, raise the seat and handlebars a bit and you are in business.

Yes that would be quite a project, but once you got it figured out you could modify the next sled pretty easy (Of the same vintage).

However the rolling chassis on the Hawk essentially has never changed, and the rolling chassis of the big 4 seem to change every few years.

If you were going to do a conversion you would need a sled that sits pretty narrow in the front. Just trying to picture my 99'SummitX with a Hawk design. That was a pretty narrow sled up front and tends to lend itslef to easily rolling over........

With the Hawk essentially pricing themselves out of the range of saneness, it might be worth a look at the motoX conversions.

Having not ridden a MotoX bike since the late 80's (Remember the RM80-250, YZ80-250, and the CR series?) If a guy were to score a used 4 stroker 500+CC bike, add a conversion kit and we are talking what for price?

Used 500 CC 4 stroke MotoX bike $_____________
Conversion kit $_______________

Fill in the blanks

And the door opens wider for the 2moto conv. 20G thats insane..
perhaps ad B. is trying to pump the market for its explorer conv.
Its easy to get a good used bike and conv. kit and still be under 9G and you can use it all year long.

I agree the price is to much. But I know that you have to move product to stay in business. Not enough people bought Snowhawks so they moved into the conversion market.
Being a dealer there is alot more potential in kits to move product. I will always have Hawk,s and hopefully next year the price might be better.
That being said the prices I posted a month ago for my used Hawks are no longer available. Everyone that wants one now, better snap up the ones that show up on ebay.

From 04 on , ADB has consistantly lost marketshare , dealers , and added attitude . The beginning of the end started in 05 . We're at the end of the end now . Max blames our president for their prices . Their awesome engineers and horrible marketeers . And that's what counts .

Beeline I think you are dead on with that assessment.......

As far as marketing, they were brutal at marketing. Just look at their website. I have never seen a more jumbled website in my life.......

A few years ago I started filling out the "Tryout Center" info on the website. I really wanted (And still do) to ride one of these things and give one a try for an hour or so. I filled out the info two years staright and NEVER got a call or even correspondence from anyone.

They easily could have sold 1000% more of these things if they would have been more creative in how they market the Hawk. In fact there was NO creativity.

I still want one of these things! The $20k price tag will not get me there however.

A damned shame if you ask me...........

opinions

I talked to ### for 20 min. this morning about the retarded pricing. He told me that the reason for the price increase it because they are not making any money on the product and it would either be no hawks or expensive hawks. The price went from 15000.00 retail to 20,000.00 which is unbelievable but we do get the zx2 suspension.LOL
For your info the conversoin kits are 3,000.00$ As a dealer I would have to get 3 units just to stay a dealer for there product. Another 10gs of there stuff sitting in storage hoping to sell and not make any profit is very hard to swallow. I think the conversion kit has its place but I don't ride a 450 and love the steep and deep. the deep anyways. I thought to about building my own design, will keep thinking about that.

lets all get together....

i will take apart my 503 and start cutting out frame pieces.... anybody have a connection for cheap motors or forks......? we can buy tracks on ebay and cut them down to fit. now that adb has made the mold and we have all ridin it.. we can modify it for our needs and make it better....wheres addict when you need him? my 503 is getting tired.....gonna have to think of something before to long

that ac 700 mill would work ok eh? pretty sturdy and well tested 135+ hps. can find em cheep enough also

forks would be easy enough to get via any moto shop.

frame , as said fab

rear end. might be the hardest part of it all.
how about a moddified firecat skid? 128x13.5 .. tracks and skids are aplenty in flatlander swap
