Just got the 800 Dragon has Mountian tech kit. So GF was on my King Cat 04 900 162.we lined them up 3 times got smoked like a cheap cigar. Is this normal or right? What should i look at to get a bit more out of sled? I can turn circles around the King Cat

there is a lot of variables that come in to play including clutching, gearing, elevation, snow conditions and more but plain and simple that's an 800 vs a 900. My friends rode a 2006 900 for 2 seasons before he picked up his 2012 pro and he still says that 900 would smoke his pro all day in a straight line.

I hear ya, i had an 07 m8 with a speedwerx race motor, a king cat 900 with pipes could handle my sled no problem, luckily i could out ride him most of the time. the old 900 are tough, i was just glad it wasn't a triple

my 12 cat smokes 13 poos.just sayin.its a cat thing!!!

D8 has SLP pipe. Cat is stock. Cat set to run at 8-10,000 ft but we are at home at about 4200ft. Running straight in 8" if snow. I got the cat for about 50ft but then get killed. So its like 454 Vs. 350 fuel injection. CUBIC INCHES or CUBIC CENTIMETERS COUNT.

id say the dragon needs a clutch tuning.you shouldnt be getting left too far behind.belt?

Next time take em tree ridin' for the first half of the day and she should be too busy lookin for oxygen from yard'n that hog around that you outta be able to take em on the flats!

Are you running a Power commander? Prior to boosting my d8 I was running an slp pipe/can with a Pcv and Dynotech's 162 hp stoutner map. Made a huge difference

What is the weight difference between your GF and you. If it's a lot than that's your answer.

She would kill me if i answered in pounds..... but she has me by a few, im skinny, she is built for comfort. So it is not a weight issue. The Cat is way heavier than the Dragon.

The King Cat just has more power....More throttle responce. It I could jack the seat up like the D8 I would ride it but squating kills my knees and going from sitting to Standing is a long ways for me (Im 6'6")

This thread cracks me up.

Aren't the stock King Cats around 175hp with stock 800 CFIs about 140hp? Put that 900 King Cat in the Dragon and you'd have a runner.

Just got back from a sled trip to Weatern Colo. Running 60/40 avation gas really woke the Dragon up. It was great in the trees. Climed some really neat stuff. Grand Mesa National Forest had some ok snow down low hard packed. Great snow up high.

A friend of mine has a Pro and an 05 King EFI, my son has been riding the King and smokes the Pro all day on the flats and the hills. Could be that my son is 200 lbs. and my friend is around 275 lbs.? Get in the trees and the Pro leaves the King in the dust. No comparison in handling.

Ghuds.
I agree on the tree part. There is no comparrison. The King cat is hard to handle in the trees. However the Avation fuel mix did worders for the D8. Thinking might have had some sorry fuel earlyier.
