Any ideas why the 09 D8 will pull 8150-8300 at 5000' but around 6000'+ max rpm are around 7700-7750. Has anyone else seen this and any ideas.
 
You do lose poawer as you go up in elevation. My sled is setup to over rev in the lot and be spot on up top.
 
I have the same sled, same problem. pretty sure I have it narrowed down the flash the dealer put in when the engine update was done back in the fall. Just got the "latest" flash couple weeks ago but have not tried it out yet. I hear hthere is going to be another flash yet in february. arrrgh, polaris just put a powser commander on already, you probably won't have as many burn downs either!!

Altitude would account for 50-100 R's max, check your clutches, bet they are getting hot....that's one reason R's will drop.
