Ive tried everything, the water trick, oil, grease, 3/4" impact on 180 psi at the same time heating the surface between the sheeves with a acetaline torch, have ruined 3 pullers, anyone have any other ideas? the motor is getting replaced so not worried about seal damage from the heat.

Try the water trick again with telflon tape around the puller threads, impact it up tight as it will go, and then put it in the frezer or outside if it is cold enough overnight. (not sure if your motor is out of the sled or not) Then hit it with the impact again and it should pop right off. Had to do this with a 900 crank a couple years ago when all else failed. Which brand puller are you using? Some did not quite fit right.

I will give it a try, suppose to be below zero the next couple of nights so hopefully that will do it. 1 of the pullers I believe was from polaris, the other 2 were from HPE. Thanks!

Put your puller on with impact like you have been saying leave it in over night or all day keep going back and hit the puller with a hamer( on the end) it will pull over time Good luck I take mine off during off season also when you put it back on don't over torqe I think 80 ft lb

Ive had a puller on it ever night since friday, every day smacking it with a hammer and the impact gun, Ive never had a clutch that i couldnt get off but this one is kicking my butt! Im changing this engine for a friend and would like to save the clutch if possible. Thanks for the ideas.

Water Trick

Cut one of your ruined pullers off about a 1/4 inch below the treads !! then try the water trick ( you need space in there for water so the water trick will work ) make sure you use plenty of teflon tape !!!

I pack the hole full of grease then run puller in. It creates more pressure somehow .
Trick I learned working at a dealership .
Now I see you tried that.

Helped a buddy with a stubborn one a month or so ago and broke the Polaris SPX tool. I couldn't believe it. With 2" of broken puller tip still in the crank hole I was left scratching my head. Another buddy told me about THIS TOOL and I ordered it up. This thing is easy to use and worked great. Pulled several since then all with good results. Might be worth a try for ya.

HERE is the order site. Good luck. EW

Well I went to the shop this morning to see the clutch still had not come off so I removed puller and tried the grease trick again and used alot more teflon tape on the puller, ran it in with a 3/4" impact and it finally popped off. I think the first time I may not have wrapped the puller with enough teflon tape. But any ways thanks for the replies.

Ya it was pretty crazy, when the clutch popped off the engine slid accross the bench and literally hit the wall, sounded like a gun going off. LOL
