09 dragon engine light flashing

I have and 09 D8 and the engine light is flashing 5 times. I found out that this is the egt sensor. So I bought a new sensor intsalled it and the engine light is still flashing now what ???? Do I have to take it in to have the codes cleared or just run it for a while. thanks Rodger

When it coded and the lights started flashing your ecu would add 10% fuel across the board to your system. Once you correct the fault in the circuit (repair or replace) and shut off your sled it is designed to go back into standard operating mode. There should be a historical code seen when it is on digital wrench but functioning normally and not to be concerned with.

Now since none of you guys seem to want to know what is up with their sleds by running EGT's then simply watch and see if you are missing some top end RPM over your pre coded operation and if you are down about 200 your sled is still coding to enrichen and you'll need to have a qualified dealer run digital wrench and possibly clear and reflash.

Make darn sure the rest of your sensors are all plugged in! if you happened to take the air box out while messing with other stuff make sure you plugged the air sensor back in! If you put a new pipe sensor in it should have fixed the problem. Check the ohm's between the 2 wires of the sensor and make sure you get something..

thanks for the help guys. I way able to talk with Jered at boondockers he told me thatafter replacing an egt sensor I will have to run the sled about 3500 rpm for a couple of miles/couple of minutes and that it should fix its self. Rodger

uhhhhh, I just did this and had to do no such thing! Put it up on a stand and run it if this is the case. Mine stopped doing it after I replaced it and plugged the air sensor back in (like a dumb a$$ I forgot).

had time to take it out in the feild next to the house to day. Light went off thanks for the help Rodger
