09 Dragon 800 Front Shocks?

Is it worth the money to replace the stock WE with Fox Floats or Fox Evol R?

I boondock and run with out swaybar. With swaybar off it likes to dive and seems too soft. With swaybar in its to stiff and harder to turn in trees. I ride most of the time standing up and use surf style turning (Straddling Seat with a foot on each side).

I have this sled running good and would like to keep for a couple more years!

Jeff....It certainly is worth swapping out the front WE shocks. Besides the Fox shocks...I would consider some coilovers...Exit XO/X1 Triple springs (Fastrax) or WE Needles c/w Dual rate spring (Tri-City Polaris)...either one of these shocks is a huge upgrade.

Thanks I will check those out.
I was leaning toward the Evol R because they have the dual chamber and you can adjust each with air pump!

Carls has them for $795.00 pair for the Dragons.

I have the raptor shocks and think they compare better with the exit shocks.

The fox shocks are generally lighter and work better for boondocking. Not saying the raptor or exit don't work for boondocking, for they are great but you gain weight. I was okay picking up weight, because I like airing it out. I think the exit and raptors are better for dropping and airing it out.

shocks

Yes, it is worth the money to change them out. I had the the same experience as you with the sled wanting to dive & being to soft in my 2010 D8. I ended up getting the evol-x's. This is the very first mod I did to my sled after 2 rides.

Coil over shocks

Hey Jeff if you’re interested in coil over shocks as an option we have a couple different avenues to choose from. Not sure if you have a price point in mind but we developed a mono tube nonadjustable shock for the front of the Dragon that is an excellent upgrade from a WE air shock. These shocks have all the cool features our piggyback shocks have without the adjustment and come with triple rate springs, 5/8 shafts, spherical bearings and all hardware for the install for $650.00 a set. You can’t beat the performance and consistency of a well-tuned coil shock. If you have questions we would be glad to help! Thanks www.raptorshocks.com

OK I got a set of the Fox Evol R for my 09 Dragon 800.
I run with no sawybar and do alot of boondocking and looking for baseline pressure setups.
I ran with 65psi main and 120psi evol chamber. My weight is about 230lbs geared up with backpack. It seems a little soft on the bottoming out so im going to try 140psi in evol. I may try 75psi in the main.

Anyone messed with theses and what did you end up with?
Do you change the psi with the snow conditions?

Thanks
Jeff
