09 D8 155 FRONTSHOCK UPGRADE??

hi guys,
looking for a front shock upgrade for my 2009 dragon 800.
want to go with piggyback shocks..

was thinking of a set from 12+ pro front walker evans with piggyback but cant really find some...will they fit anyways?

saw some KYB take off from a freeride...fits?

anyone here can give me their 2 cents?!

thanks

zbroz for me , get them valved and triple rate springs for your riding conditions and weight, money well spent for me.

The stock shocks are 17.25" long... If the KYB's are that same length or close to it, then I see no reason you couldn't make them fit.

I put 2013 Pro shocks on mine up front and like it better than the stock "air" shocks. Had to put the Zbroz extension kit on to make them the correct length though. You can always have holz put on a piggy back with a revalve, which is crucial when putting shocks from a different sled on an IQ.

If you have $1000+ to spend, then Zbroz or raptor is the way to go. But the cheapest way is probably Pro shocks with a revalve.

Send your shocks to Mike at Fabcraft, get adjustable chambers added and revalved with latest valving updates and new seals, good to go... for $98 per shock for the chambers and I think $40 for revalve (check fabcraft.com or call them, tell them Mitch sent ya). Way cheaper and works great on this sled. If you have lots of money to throw at it, jump up a couple years to a Pro. :-)

I ran some '14 pro Shocks just before this purchase... worked well... you need to use your old bushings and they will work..

I bet they werent CHEAP ?
None of these options are, having the WE's worked over by Fabcraft with adjustable chambers and revalved for better performance, I estimate $180 per shock plus shipping... I think that will save you a lot of cash and get you a performance upgrade and adjustability to boot. Or sell of your WE shocks for a couple hundred (or whatever they are worth if they are in need of rebuild etc.) and put it towards one of the other options listed here.

I went with the fox 3.. I can later add the evolution kit if needed.. way better than the stock w.e.

i was thinking going with pro walkers than with some air shocks..(due to my experience in downhill racing, i had a full air suspension on my intense m9 but blew it 4 times on my racing season...as soon as i switched to a coilover setup everything changed!)
just my 2 cents but even then it doesnt mean that goes the same way with snowmobiles...

i weigh 220 without gear and my riding is basicaly boondocking, jumps drops here and there and mostly sidehilling..

if you were to compare the pro walkers to your floats 3 what would you have to say considering my situation

thanx looking fowards to your advice!

I like the adjustability of the floats.. they ride better than the pros but I borrowed them just to try...so I did not adjust at all.. I am 210 and like to ride hard.. I suck at jumps but pound the terrain... love fast boondocks in the trees.. for the price... I am way happy with the fox 3.. you should be able to score for under six bills.. and then if more is needed the Evol kit can be aadded later. .
