09' 800 silber NO TRACK SPEED?

Hey guys i bought a 2009 800 dragon with a silber turbo kit on it. the guy that built it did an awesome job, looks really clean and professional...any ways, i took the sled to cooke for the first time this weekend and was not impressed. Sled ran awesome with 50:50 mix 110 and 91......about 8-10 lbs of boost. I started trip with 67gram adj. weights. only pulled about 7700 rpm.....40mph track speed tops......then went down to 62 gram weights. I then was running about 40-45 mph tops track speed. I am going to do some serious checking if sled was geared down, im thinking it may be. I know there is a pink spring in the primary, and a different helix in secondary. Will try and get ahold of justin as well this week, but i was hoping this sled would rip alot harder then it did. (stock m8 was riding cirlces around me, and my 05 900 rmk was way way more sled then this thing is right now). Like i said i was running 8100-8200 rmp, 8-10 psi boost and about 12-12.5 on the afr gauge. engine sounded strong and ran really good, so it has to be clutching/gear ratio issue i am assuming. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this with the 09 800's and what setups u are running.

P.S. rode with a pro rmk with silber turbo kit.....it rocked *** :)

In my 2012 Silber turbo on a 2011 pro I'm pulling 77 grams at 8-10psi at 10k. I'm not familiar with what the dragons should pull though.

gearing is stock as far as i know, sled had like 72 gram weights in whewn i got it and the guy said to go lower....i started with 67 gram and was about 7700 rpm....then went to 62 gram and was at about 8100 rpm...picked up a little track speed but not much.

Im going to check all the springs and everything this weekend if i get a chance

I haven't checked, nor have we really had any "long climbs" yet. Snow is chitty... Just finding small areas to play in. Boston Racing mentioned his track speeds to me the other day but I forget...

Mine doesnt really count because we have hero snow. At 12 pounds I saw 92-93 mph displayed in the max mph going up gravel mountain at Grand Lake. The track was digging a trench through the ice the whole way up. Mine is geared down 1 tooth on top.

the pink spring is the stiffest spring you can get just about i thought... so maybe its sacked out

ok, ya i rode mine around here last year and i thought i only got about 70mph out of i. 0 in of snow here right now so i cant even test drive it.
Going to the mountains this weekend again if snow is decent, i think i will switch my primary spring and try that first. Still trying to get ahold of justin to see what he thinks. I would think that even with stock gearing if clutching is set up right it should pull 50 55 mph no problem with the 155" track on climbs? I rode a turbo m8 about 3 years ago and that thing would start the climb at 40 and build to 60 all the way up. Just wondering if that sounds like a realistic track speed? Unless i was expecting to much out of this turbo set up?

If you have to stiff of spring in your primary it will not upshift? Or what do you mean by sacked out? If spring is to stiff it will not allow clutch to close up and upshift right? Or do i need to have heavier weights in to get the stiff spring to work right?

He's saying maybe you need a new spring. They lose tension over time and should be replaced. This could cause low rpms...

ok ya that makes sense, rpms are not my problem though its the track speed that isnt up there. Unless i need a new spring and then back up to the heavier weights again to get it to pull like it should.

That team pink spring is about a 160-320 I needed that high initial rate to get a 4000engagement with the rooster weights, and I had a pump gas dragon at 10 psi and I used 72G roosters and ran 50-60 MPH I had a black orange and a 46/56, my AFR was in the 13s at wot and 14s at part throttle! And I also geared down1 tooth on top!

If you went down on top gear 1 tooth that would give you lower gear ratio? Were you thinking it would pull harder longer that way? I was thinking of gearing down abit to maybe.

I built a '09 Dragon with a silber turbo, and I am seeing the same track speed you are. my gearing is bone stock (snowchecked this sled). I am pretty certian the issue lies with in the clutching.
