09 800 dragon will not tach

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on my sled. At 6500 feet it will only tach 7950 rpm and at 9000 it will only tach 7650 rpm. I have the new update and I am running an mbrp can. I changed the springs in the primary and secondary but besides that it is all stock. Last year it would tach 8250 but later in the year I noticed it was not taching. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

What are you running for weights? Check your clutches as well. Bushings in your primary could be worn. Also check your belt defection, if it's running to low you will lose as well. I run mine at about 1/8th above the sheave.

same here a have a 08 800 and got the new motor and had real bad issues with not reaching 8250 like last year. my dealer informed me that the 2010 motor dynos at 8000-8100 from the factory. this year i could only get 7900 so we put a new spring in the primary and the new remap and i am hitting 8100 so way good here.

same problem here guess there is a new map out i need to try, but sucks only getting 7800

I Talked to slp on friday about mine they told me to install the pink springs on the ves valve's that the orange one's they installed in the update are way to stiff that the valve's are not openning at high elevation. That is why we are not getting high rpm's

I am running the 62 gram weights that came in it right now. I might drop the weight to 60 gram and see what that does. I am going to change both the primary and secondary springs and see if that changes anything. The only other thing I was wondering is if my fuel filter is pluged off???? I only have 1100 miles on my sled right now. I am not sure the update has anything to do with it because it was starting to run this way last spring but I just thought that it was cuz it was warm outside. Right now I am open to anything because I am not real sure what the problem is. Thank you all for the help so far and I will keep trying and see what I can come up with.

I'm not sure why you guys are having issues with low r's on the updated. I ran a pretty steady 8200 for about 200 miles. Then it got pig rich and just bogged. PCV now and runs awesome! But RPM is down some, but I'm also running two grams more weight than before. I'll try going back to 66 gram. Running at around 1400'

1. If your sled had 1000 miles the dealer was to change the fuel filter during the update, I'd check with him and if they didn't-change the filter it could be plugged.
2. Then if you have orange EV springs change them back to pink.
3. Don't change the Driven clutch spring but put delrin washers (SLP product) on each side of the spring.
4. Consider a clutch kit from Carl's with different helix and weights before going to lighter weights.

Welcome to my world!!!!! I have had RPM issues on my 08 from the 200 mile mark to now at 2000 miles. I had the update done and seems to be running better for now. I have only ridden around the valley where I live but seems to pull more R's than ever before. I have since installed a SLP pipe with Triple S clutching also installed new fuel filter. I have a PCV on the as well. Love the chassis though so willing to work with the sled.

Well I took my primary clutch apart and found one of my weight bushings was wore out and the weight was starting to rub on the spider. Replaced weights and replaced the driven spring and put another delrin washer in it. I only had one in it last year because that was all the polaris shop had at the time. Replaced belt and I am going to go try it tomorrow. I will update with the results.

Well I took it for a ride the other day and the rpm's got to 8100 but that was it. Think I will see if the Polatris dealer has the new flash and see what it does then.:confused:
