09 800 dragon compression

Wow, these are all over the place!

THe first time I checked mine before I rode it, it was about 115 or so??

No update my 08d8 showed 115 and 112 (slight scoring) in St. Paul,MN. More or less at sea level. I didn't think that was very good. :(

My 03 700 VE had 125psi on each cylinder cold at about 1600'. I though this was low so I pulled it apart the other night and everthing looked perfect. Bought a set of wisecos and took the jugs in machine shop to clearance them for pistons. I will post compression results with wisecos in a few days. Im may be thinking of getting high compresssion head if I dont see a dramatic increase.

Mine was just under 100psi on both cold @ 2200' this is with 71 miles on the update and with a snap-on tester.

Rechecked mine with 140miles

snap-on #1 tester 97psi
snap-on #2 tester 110psi
El-cheapo 120psi

I think this is why we see so much difference in compression it's the gauges. I think the biggest thing to to record your compression , use the same tester each time, and cylinders should be even.

I would say it went into limp mode at 6000 because it was crazy lean and caused detonation, not because of fuel quality

Rechecked my 03 700 VE today after I installed the wisecos the other night, 140 & 142 snapon gauge. Not exactly sure how temp affects compression but it was bout 10 below 0 today when I check it. Was about 20 degrees when I checked it with stock pistons and they were 125 each.

compression

Does anyone know what the compression is suppose to be? Mine is 92psi both sides @ 4100' after 100 miles with new update, pistons, etc. Seems low to me.
