09 700 RMK front shocks

I am thinking on changing my front stock shocks to FOX FLOAT 2 is any one did that? is it worth the $700 are they good for trail and off trail riding.

They work good, but don't put too much air in them....they will stand too tall and make the balance with the rear wrong then....thats what people are doing with the Walker airs....they need valving and oil change to keep from diving if you are a very weight forward rider.....just like any other shock.....balance on suspension is important...

I just about put the float 2s on my 09 RMK but decide to go with the W/E needles through tri-city,they have dual rate springs,16 position clickers and custom valving. I love them! Cheaper then the floats to.

The W/E handle the studder bumps better then the floats do because of the dual rate springs,I have yet to bottom them out yet either. If you blow a shock the spring will still hold you up to get back to the trailer,on a float shock you are out of luck.

redalfha, I sent my orignal Walker Evans Shocks out to Fabcraft in Florence, MT and had the spring rate chambers installed and they work better then my buddies with the fox float 2's. But the set up is the key like catmanm8 said. Fabcraft will custom charge the WE's to your weight and update the WE's shocks. I put the big bog rear torsion springs in my sled as well and it works great. I have no complaints but to each their own. I attached fabcrafts link below fyi. Good luck with your decision.

redalfha, Sorta not? Kind of? Close I guess? No springs, click on the link for Fabcrafts springrate chambers and you will see what they can add on to your orignal walker evans.

I have the 09 700 rmk not the dragon my stock shocks are the sping ryde fx I never had the air shocks.

Sorry dude, you can still pick up the orignal style WE's and have the spring rate chambers installed. It just depends on what you want and what you like? I have the ryde fxs on my 08 RMK 700 and they are ok but dont compare to the Fox Floats or WE's.

Heres my opinion. The floats are a good choice as are the needles. If you want to really step up then go with the ars fx or the evols. I know some people have had great luck with the stock we shocks but it is my opinion they are not worth the metal they are made of. In fact I gave 2 sets away after trying everything under the sun to get them to work right. Including the fabcraft chamber and the nextech chamber. I am now running needles and looking for either some evols or ars fx shocks.

After riding 2 seasons on a set of Exit shocks, Carls valved floats and Stock WE shocks, I can say the Exit shocks are far superior than the other two with the triple rate spring and valving set to the rider weight. They offer much improved control and a very progressive feel through their stroke. They also handle the myriad of conditions you find better than the other two, from small stutter bumps to the big hits they inspire confidence and offer an excellent ride.
