Has anyone had issues with the rewind starter? I just broke mine yesterday and that is the second time. The internal parts are coming apart and not letting the pawl engage the crank. What my real question is. I was looking on skidoo's web site and i noticed that the 08 part number doesnt match the 09 number. Does anyone know if there is an update or improvement? Lucked out this time and it broke at home while unloading. If you have any thought please let me know. Thanks...

A Ski Doo having a problem with a recoil? Say it isn't so, I'm not sure if they have ever made a sled without electric start that the recoil hasn't busted, fallen apart, blew up, . . . I have had to baby a rebuild mine more than I care to, however thanks to all of the practice, I can rebuild it faster than a NASCAR pit crew.

Here's a easy way to fix this problem. Take a drill bit and drill a hole through the middle of the recoil put a large washer with a small oring under it and a 1/4 stainless steel bolt right through recoil housing and install a self locking
nut. End of problems had 8000klms on my machine never had recoil apart, except to change cord.
