you have to stand in line just to complain:rolleyes:

Oh come on man last year when my shaft got broken i almost break my foot because of that, than my sled was almost 1 month at dealer and I was missing good days of riding.I trying to get my shaft to be replaced since august and all I hear just wait.By the way we have 2XPs in our group and they all went home with broken shafts. P.S. a very happy XP 163 owner.

My dealer got 15 a couple weeks ago. I was the 1st on the list and they were all gone in a 2 days. I guess that are not expecting anymore for a few weeks.

Got mine in october. Dealer was pulling names out of a hat and I got lucky. Same story for everyone else, will get a call when more are available. Could be a month and they will not honour warranty on related parts if the shaft breaks. Should have gotten a letter in the mail saying to stop using your sled. BS

I'm getting mine tomorrow.

My dealer is going thru his list of XP owners alphabetically starting with the A's, that way no one can complain.

We were told it'd be about a month....I think its been just about that so I'm hoping to get it taken care of some time very soon. Would be outstanding to get it done before the snow hits!

Alphabetical order nice if your a Anderson, sucks if your a Wilson... I suppose it's not fair to go by the date you picked up your sled?

i just got mine on fri and ive been on a list since sept i was 4th on a list of 63 and the 3 before me were 09 spring check sleds so mine was the first 08 they ve done at my dealer in MN

grrrr

unfortunately, SD won't get any until the end. I believe Mid-December.

They said they are starting with who gets the snow first and work their way towards the midwest. Kind of ironic that we just had a blizzard with 40" of snow. GRRRRRRR!!

Dealers in Michigan have already have some, so I think your dealer is BSing you.

So, how many of you live no where near a dealer??

I called my dealer's service manager again asking for a time frame on receiving a new drive axle. Same story, non in stock, waiting for the next shipment to come in. So I asked him who gets the drive axles first, is it by date of sale, serial #, etc, etc. He informs me that basically the guys who inquire about it first, get them first. I explained to him that this is the third time I've talked to him about this since I first heard of the recall, and furthermore, I have not received ANY information relating to this recall. No phone call, no letter, no email.....nothing from BRP informing me of such. So then he tells me that he will make sure to put me on the list for the next batch of axles. He says that when the next batch of axles come in, they will let me know when to bring my sled in to have it replaced. "Uh, I live in Alaska..... that is not going to happen. Just throw the axle in the mail." That is when he informed me that since it is a safety recall, only a dealer can install the shaft. I should just take the sled to my nearest dealer. Well, the clincher is, I have no dealer within maybe 600 miles...so now I am stuck.

So, here is my question. How many of you guys out there are far enough away from a dealer to make it physically or financially impossible to get this done? It will cost me roughly $1200 in shipping costs, PLUS at least a month of down time to ship the sled back to my dealer and then get it back, so you can see, this is NOT going to happen. The service manager is very adament about NOT shipping me the drive axle for me to install myself. There has GOT to be a loop-hole or something for situations like this... He said that he will contact BRP tomorrow and see if there is anything else that can be done, but I am not holding my breath.

I would almost prefer to just buy the stupid thing outright and install it myself. If I BOUGHT the darn thing, I should be able to install my own drive axle, right? Now what are the chances of actually having a dealer turn loose with one and my being able to do that?

So what do you guys think about my situation??

I'm just a little agitated right now, so I am venting.... :(

I think the only thing you can do is call the head office, when my 07 blew the crank,i was down for over 4 weeks in DECEMBER!!! it sucked,so i called Que. and talked to the cust service guy and he said there wasen't much they could do because it had been fixed with an 08 block, but i thought i should be compensated for sitting out 4 weeks he said too bad so i asked if i could talk to his manager and he said no and hung up so i called back and talked to the other cust ser and she directed me to a fellow named Remy and he said all they could do is start a file and if anything happened to my sled at least i had a file #, so..... after all that typing and thinking about it,,,,maybe you should talk to a lawyer,

If I were you I would purchase it and do it yourself, but that isn't going to happen. If they are having so much trouble getting them for warranty customers there is no way they are selling one. Even if you are trying to buy the one you are supposed to get on warranty, they would rather do a claim and get paid for it. Feel your pain dealers here in CAN suck too. Your SOL.

Steel Dreams in WA, will get the work done in January.

I can't believe how many dealers are treating customers like sht.

Ride Motorsports in Woodinville - timeline is probably mid to late December.

I-90 in Issaquah - timeline is probably mid December.

If these were cars, they wouldn't have to wait for months at a time to get warranty work done. But yet, they cost just as much as some cars.
