i resetly bought a 08 summitx 154 and iam trying to pull the drive clutch apart . should this come apart like a regular ski-doo clutch or are the 08s different,cause its not coming apart like my 07. Anyone else have any problems?
What do you mean ,apart? Off the crank or split in two after it is off the crank? If you take it off the crank and keep the bolt in the middle threads, hit the bolt with a hammer and it will split in two.
You can also screw the puller in the back side of the clutch and hit it against a piece of wood on the floor cupping your hands and holding pressure on the fixed half. it's a pressed fit and you need hit it pretty good.
I hold the outter half in my hand over my bench and rap it hard with a 2 lb. hammer and it uaually works. If I ever have trouble I pour boiling water over the cup end and try again.
